Definitions of the "Liberty Vibe" project
- What is behind the project (intentions, meanings)?
- We developed a passion for original and well-crafted clothing. We decided that to be truly satisfied, we had to make the garment ourselves and add something special to it: a strong and important message. Beyond acquiring new skills, it's a real challenge. It's almost like entering the professional world: making a garment isn't something you can do with the snap of your fingers.
So we decided to start with the most obvious step: choosing which item we wanted to create. We instinctively gravitated towards jeans: less common than a t-shirt or a sweater, but easier to make than gloves and more interesting than socks. Another advantage was that we only needed one raw material, denim, and could add embroidery to it.
However, we didn't yet know completely where we were going, which is why we started the drawing.
The inspiration for our brand, and more specifically for the design on these trousers, was born and built around the concept of freedom. The choice of doves with an olive branch is therefore obvious; it's the most evocative element. The name, too, literally means "atmosphere of freedom" in French.
Ultimately, the brand's goal is to donate a portion of its profits to associations for the defense of human rights and freedom in general.
The brand's intention is also to encourage people to buy better-made and more ethically produced clothing. In an era where one-third of purchased garments go unworn, acquiring a new one should be a considered decision. Our goal is therefore to offer clothing of sufficient quality to last, and original enough to stand out from everything else in your wardrobe, without being overly extravagant.
- Why our product over others?
- Trousers with a perfect texture for all seasons
- A unique pair of trousers with high-quality embroidery and numerous details
- Trousers that embody important human values in our era: freedom and respect for working conditions
- A fair price in relation to production costs, and a very low profit (€4 after payment of taxes, production costs and redistribution to associations) to be reused intelligently.
- Definitions of the different intermediaries and explanations of the prototype manufacturing steps
We then use a local company to do the embroidery on the garment. This company specializes in textile customization, including screen printing, engraving, and embroidery. The embroidery was first tested on a sample pair of denim pants (see photo) to better understand the details, placement, and colors. The patch we designed and laser-engraved on a special faux leather texture was also tested on this "draft."
After this step, we began the actual production of the trousers. We sent the pattern to the supplier and corrected any imperfections in the embroidery and patch using the draft, thus saving ourselves time with the supplier. After numerous exchanges, the company provided us with the final mock-up, which we approved before receiving the sample.
- How does our project contribute to supporting Afghan women?
Our project is committed to the fight for women's rights in Afghanistan.
First, it is important to state that the situation there is deplorable. Every day, the little freedom they have left is further eroded: they can no longer go to school, are entirely dependent on their husbands, and suffer the most abhorrent violence arbitrarily and at the whim of the Taliban. It is urgent to act to stop this as soon as possible.
On each sale, 20% of our profits are directly donated to associations fighting against this situation, without any tax deduction.
Beyond the financial support, our trousers primarily convey a message of freedom and hope. From its inception, the idea of doves with an olive branch flying towards the sky reflected our desire to shed light on a subject that is sadly disappearing from the news.
